Ok, I myself have been looking around quite a bit for info on taking apart the dash on an 03' civic coupe and found some little tips and stuff which allowed me enough information to get the whole thing apart, here is a step by step guide. Here is the center panel area, the first thing you need to put your attention on is the shifter, there is a little panel surrounding the silvery shifter console and that can be easily pulled right out, so do that. The next step is to take off the panel that surrounded the panel you just took off. This panel is pretty hard to take out, but make sure you don’t pull so hard as to not control your force, or you might bend a section off. So do that and this is what it should look like. After that, there is the horseshoe-like panel that goes around the side of the shifter, all you have to do here is take off those two screws shown in the picture and pull the rest out, now the cig lighter and its console come out right with it so don’t try to separate the two. here are some pics. Just disconnect the cig lighter with the push in plug and put the panel aside. Here it is without the panel. It gets a bit tricky here, there are two screws on the underside of the deck that need to be taken out, but space is to limited for a conventional screw driver, so get a small ratchet tool and take those puppies out. Here is the tool i used. Next place your hand on the metal plate facing the plate you just took screws out of, they are touching together. Push really hard and a couple pops later out comes your center console. Here it is.
